What UMNO knows about IDR

Not like most their blood sucking masters, many of UMNO pariah members especially in Johor Darul Takzim have a very little knowledge with what the bl**dy hell IDR (or WPI) is really about.

Thy still thinking of mega properties development project, tricked with dozens of development corridors etc. and conned to believe guaranteed beneficial Malays participation without realised hidden agenda on how this useless govt selling off our sovereignty and right for the sake of quick and easy Sens and Dollar [for tht AAB son & son in law & Co].

This $ing Dollar funded politician must win in this coming election. Off course life is easy in this states so called stronghold… and with a lot of chicken too.

Keep rocking mate… this mammoth project must go on and materialised. Whatever it cost, bigger space must be given way since thy already pay the deposits. So much money now start pouring in…

Johor Umno delegates told not to raise IDR project

Umno Johor delegates attending the party’s annual general assembly in Kuala Lumpur last week were disallowed from raising the Iskandar Development Region (IDR) issue.

The directive came from Johor Menteri Besar Abdul Ghani Othman during a special meeting held at his official residence several days before the general assembly.

An Umno Johor division leader, who declined to be named, confirmed this.

He told Malaysiakini that Abdul Ghani issued the directive during a briefing held on the IDR at his residence which was attended by division leaders, Youth, Wanita and Puteri chiefs as well as delegates.

“Abdul Ghani told us that the IDR issue need not be discussed (at the general assembly) since all the people in Johor know about the development project.

“According to the menteri besar, before this, the state government and Umno had also explained the matter to all party members and residents in the areas which fall under the IDR and they understand (the issue),” he said.

The division chief added that several Youth leaders who wanted to raise the issue during the general assembly were forced to back down after this.

Malay interests at stake

Meanwhile, a division Puteri Umno chief said her division had submitted a motion to the Umno state liaison committee to have the IDR issue discussed at the general assembly.

However, she said the motion was rejected because it was deemed inappropriate.

Elaborating, she said her division had put forward the motion because there were large investments from non-Malays and foreigners in the IDR.

“I told the briefing (at Abdul Ghani’s residence) that the motion must be discussed at the general assembly because it concerned the interests of the Malays, especially those in Johor.

“In the initial stages, it (IDR) looks profitable for the Malays, but what will happen 10 to 15 years from now,” she added.

The IDR covers 2,217 square kilometres from the Johor Bahru district to Pontian. It is three times the size of neighbouring Singapore.

The region is estimated to have a population of 1.35 million or 43 percent of the population in Johor, which numbers at 3.17 million.

The IDR was launched by Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi on Nov 3 last year and is expected to be completed in 2025.

In his policy speech at the Umno general assembly, the premier brushed aside concerns that the implementation of economic corridors would threaten the future of the Malays.

Instead, he said such a notion was tantamount to insulting the capability of the Malays, who were now highly educated, in competing at a global level - MalaysiaKini
